Windows 8.1 Update 1 reportedly delayed to April

Microsoft watcher Mary Jo Foley states that the rollout of the Windows 8.1 Update 1 has been delayed from March to April because Microsoft needs a bit more time to finalize the update. The rollout is expected to occur on the second Tuesday or April, to coincide with the usual Patch Tuesday distribution.

soft watcher Mary Jo Foley claims the rollout of Windows 8.1 Update 1 has been delayed from March to April because Microsoft needs a bit more time to finalize the update. The rollout is expected to occur on the second Tuesday or April, to coincide with the usual Patch Tuesday distribution. Windows 8.1 Update 1 is a collection of features and fixes for Windows 8.1. Most of the new features are aimed at making Windows 8.1 more palatable to those who prefer using a mouse to navigate the latest Windows release.

A leaked Windows 8.1 Update 1 test build (from mid-January) showed off a number of the expected new features, including the ability to pin Metro apps to the Desktop task bar; new right-clickable context-sensitive menus; and adding dedicated search and power buttons to the Start screen. A new Enterprise Mode for Internet Explorer 11 is also part of the leaked build, according to some who've downloaded it.

Sorry man, but, the classic start menu is gone for good, get over it. :D Now, there will eventually be a non full screen start screen/ start menu like interface so just wait for that. (Otherwise, just keep crying a bucket of tears.)

If we don't like it, that's not good. I don't want that they would force us use one or another, i want choosing rights.

Sometimes I get the feeling big software makers like to throw out "leaked" previews to gauge public response. They listen to views or criticisms then fine tune or improve their product accordingly. Which could explain the delay.
