Windows 8.1 Update 1 LEAKED - video walktrough
The video, created by @bav0, walks you through the new features that the update will bring to the platform. Among them are the ability to right click on apps in the modern environment that brings up a new context menu that allows you to pin apps to the taskbar and a new access bar at the top of modern apps. The video is a bit over 4 minutes long and hits all the high notes for the update. Microsoft is expected to release this update sometime this spring with many expecting it to arrive in the March/April timeframe.

The update does make Windows 8.1 a lot more user-friendly for people like myself who find the Modern UI (Metro) screen to be extremely jarring alongside the desktop but it still does little to convince me that the Modern UI is overall a bit unnecessary on a desktop.
Even Apple have two different operating systems for the products, OSX for their Mac range and iOS for their iPads and iPhones so I never could quite understand why Microsoft thought it was a good idea to make Windows 8 both a tablet and desktop operating system. "Jack of all trades, master of none" is the expression that springs to mind when I think of Windows 8.
