Windows 8.1 start buttons leaks, looks familiar
So yesterday we already posted some info on the return of the Start menu. We now have a screenshot available. Microsoft is expected to include a Start button with the Windows 8.1 update and now we have our first look at the new button and it looks quite familiar to those of you who use Windows 8.
The button looks exactly like the charms bar Start button, which should come as little surprise, and is located exactly where you would expect it to be.
While the button will be nothing more than a gateway to the Modern Start screen, it will likely appease many consumers who had trouble navigating the new platform. But if this does not function like the "Old Windows" start button then what is the point? All it will do is bring me back to the metro interface? How useless is that?

Personally having that start button or not won't affect me since I'm already used to the Start Screen and have been using Windows 8 as intended lol.

Wuh eh wah?! start menu!?
Oh u mean press windows key, type stuff, let windows find the
process and then press enter for it to launch

Nah I won't care either.
Only thing I've done is pinned really frequently used stuff to the
Metro menu (stuff I used to have on my objectdock on W7).

How special, another 'I don't use the startmenu so everyone else shouldn't either, rather I want to suck the teet of a multinational corporation and needlessly defend them for whatever reason'.
As fine as that logic is, it's still a good question to ask if software like Start8 will still work since 8.1 does not do what it does (and if it does not, then I'm sure stardock will update it).
I think Windows 8 and now the Xbone makes it pretty evident MS is very out of touch with the populace.
I said I got used to it, I didn't say you should too. As far as Win 8 goes; Use it, or don't use it. It's as simple as that.

It's the context my friend, you were saying that you think it's pointless to use Startbutton programs on Windows 8 when you can just get used to metro.

Yup.
M$ are a large powerful company, with fingers in many pies for sure - and this is kinda the problem; how can a company so large and so powerful and so rich make so many mistakes?
