Many users have reported decreased read speeds of their SSDs after updating to Windows 11 version 22H2 - KB5023706. Many SSD manufacturer products are experiencing the problem. However, the issue can be resolved by uninstalling the update.



Microsoft is aware of the issue and has already circulated some initial workarounds. While an official update is expected to be released soon, users can currently uninstall the update to restore the previous performance of their SSDs. Alternatively, Microsoft suggests using copy programs that do not use the cache manager, or entering specific commands at the command prompt, such as Robocopy and Xcopy.

In other news, the latest Windows update, 'Moment 2,' has introduced several improvements to enhance the user experience, including the implementation of Bing Chat based on ChatGPT, which is available in the system tray. However, it's worth noting that this update should not affect most users regarding the previously mentioned SSD issue.

Copying large multiple gigabyte (GB) files might take longer than expected to finish on Windows 11, version 22H2. You are more likely to experience this issue copying files to Windows 11, version 22H2 from a network share via Server Message Block (SMB) but local file copy might also be affected.Windows devices used by consumers in their home or small offices are not likely to be affected by this issue.
