Windows 11 update fixes a problem that caused the PC to take up to 40 minutes to boot.

This week update KB5012643 has been made available by Microsoft as an optional update for the Windows 11 operating system. It fixes a number of bugs, including one that caused the operating system to take up to 40 minutes to start up, which is now fixed.

According to Microsoft's support site, Windows 11 version 22000.652 is the new version of Windows 11. In addition to fixing bugs, with slow boot being the most common one, the update also makes it easier for the company to update parts of the Secure Boot feature, making it easier for them to do so. Users who want to get the update for Windows 11 can now do so through Windows Update now. You can download the update manually if you want to install it on a lot of computers at the same time. To do this, go to this link.

Keep in mind that the update is optional. If your computer is not affected by some of the bugs that were fixed by the KB5012643 update, it is better to wait until Microsoft releases its monthly updates on May 10th, so that you don't have to deal with any kind of surprise.

  • Fixed a bug that caused the operating system to take up to 40 minutes to start up;
  • Fixed an issue that causes the AppX Deployment Service (AppXSvc) to stop working after installing certain MSIX applications;
  • Fixed a memory leak issue on PCs that stay on 24 hours a day;
  • Fixed a bug that caused the computer to stop starting;
  • Fixed two subtitle display bugs: the first one partially cutting off the subtitles during playback and the second one changing the correct alignment of the subtitles being played.

We are seriously discussing boot times in 2022? Even 600€ laptops nowadays take 12 seconds to boot. As for Win11, it seems the only people who have daily problems with it, are those who aren't using it.

Exactly, very unproductive environment.
Instead of getting things done , user is fixing OS.

When I had W11 it was taking around 20 seconds to start, now I'm on W10 and it takes around 12 seconds to start.

40 minute startup? Lol that would be an instant wipe and re-install for me. Would not deal with that. I've been on W11 for a while now on my corp laptop. It has had so many random issues, I cant really recommend it yet to my users. Hopefully another 6 months and it maybe more solid.

Both my laptop and my desktop beg me to install W11, but I keep telling them to be patient.
