Windows 10 will automatically uninstall updates that cause problems

Windows 10 will automatically uninstall updates that cause problems

Microsoft is rolling out a feature that will reverse and automatically remove recently installed updates when Windows detects a startup error. This new trick will be performed to remove problematic updates that may fail due to incompatibility or problems with new software.

You will receive the following message when it happens. : "We have removed some recently installed updates to recover your device from a boot error". This is only done when all other automatic recovery attempts have failed.

"Windows automatically installs updates to keep your device secure and running at peak efficiency. Occasionally, these updates can fail due to incompatibility or issues in new software. Your device has recently recovered from a startup failure if you have received this notification: "We removed some recently installed updates to recover your device from a startup failure." If Windows detects this, it will try to resolve the failure by uninstalling recently installed updates. This is only done when all other automatic recovery attempts have been unsuccessful.

To ensure that your device can start up and continue running as expected, Windows will also prevent problematic updates from installing automatically for the next 30 days. This will give Microsoft and our partners the opportunity to investigate the failure and fix any issues. After 30 days, Windows will again try to install the updates".

Like how to avoid qa even more.

Just release them, scrape forums for data, in case press the emergency button.
Then QA + Investigate.

I just want a stable system - letting bigger updates settle before updating.

qft.

What happens if windows installs an update that bricks user's PCs / installation? How will it "uninstall" itself if it kills windows itself, the network connections etc.
And it's not like we haven't seen this happening in the past 12 months.

I bet the biggest issue of many PC users in the past 36 months was indeed m$, malware's a tiny problem compared to a essentially bugged OS
