Windows 10 VGA graphics card FCAT performance benchmarks

Windows 10 VGA graphics card FCAT performance benchmarks

After posting our benchmark item on Windows 8.1 vs Windows 10 benchmark performance a question raised in our forums. If we can do some FCAT results.

A valid question as multi-threaded optimization's might close down the frame latency gap even further. Now as the results below show, there hardly is a difference. Windows 10 from the ground up is Windows 8.1 in another jacket. Only once DX12 games will hit the street you'll be able to see some real differences in terms of scene complexity etc.

But the answer the question, sure we can run some FCAT benchmarks, see below. This one is for the true Gurus and latency afficinado's of course. If you like to learn what FCAT frametime analysis is, have a peek at this article.

I don't get it :)

For example.:
Game A on Ipad 4th Gen is having 30fps (
no shadows, no antialiasing
)
then new Ipad Air is released.
Creator of Game A add additional effects (
shadows, antialiasing
) that only Ipad Air can show, but at expense of fps.
So while game looks better on Ipad Air, it will have again
30fps
.
I prefer if they add only stuff, that won't have impact at all on fps.
Or second option, don't add anything new, just make game more smooth.

PS.: sorry for my English, it's getting rusty :)

I get what you mean now but DX12 is a new API not new hardware. They may use features that are new to DX12 but it's still a low level API.
Actual performance of DX12 games is yet to be seen but you can just imagine.
Have a read through this review to see how drastically optimized for current hardware DX12 is.

Look at the frametimes.

no no no... and vs W98? wich one is better W95 or W98? lol

more seriously i haven't noticed any (major) change since W7 or W8 or W8.1... but the result where already positive so it is great already.

According to multiple stats and DICE, they all say switching from W7 to W8.1 gives a 10-20% performance boost in Battlefield 4.
Now i did notice higher FPS in Battlefield 4 but i can't tell for sure if that really was the 20% they were talking about.

I definitely approached 20% in BF4 after switching to 8.1, and I'm seeing good baseline improvements like PrMinister now with Win10.
