Windows 10 April Update has been released
It is now confirmed, Microsoft has started rolling out the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, weeks delayed due to some issues when it initially released the update.
The updates will be phases out over weeks, some of you will get a notification to update instantly, while will have to wait. You might be able to trigger the update by opting a manual check or perhaps using the update assistant.
Windows 10 will feature Timeline as myce reports. By pressing Windows Key + Tab, the feature will show a chronological timeline of all applications and documents that were recently opened on all Windows devices. This means Windows 10 will keep track of all your activities. It makes it possible to start to work on a document on one PC and then continue to work on it on another PC. That is possible because Microsoft synchronizes the document in the cloud (this can be disabled). Timeline also works with mobile devices, if Edge or Office is installed on your mobile device, the activities on those devices can also be viewed from your Windows 10 computer.
Another new feature is called Dictation. After pressing Windows Key+H you can tell your PC what you want to write. The voice to speech engine of Dictate will automatically write what you’ve said. The feature should work with most text inputs fields.
With Focus Assist, Microsoft has added the ability to temporarily mute notifications. This should ensure users aren’t disturbed when focusing on some work. It’s also possible to enable Focus Assist on set times and with filters it’s possible to choose which notifications you do want to see when Focus Assist is enabled.

The stuttering issues many have experienced in the past were due to memory management bug Windows has since Creators Update. This is supposed to be fixed in April Update.
Also April Update brings way lower latency for audio.
Audio settings and audio default device per app.
A way to stop notifications while playing games (Focus Assist).
More and clearer privacy settings.
An overall smoother and better experience.
Faster updates.
These are enough for me to update and love the update.

If you're going to make bold claims like this, you need to add benchmarks to back it up, as the majority of us have seen next to no improvements performance-wise since 1607
Gui and whole minimize /maximize, no alt+tab straight to fullscreen.. such minor quirks.
But i saw this only after I updated from wddm 2.3 to wddm 2.4 driver.
As for older vs new, rs3 was snappy by certain benchmarks, while now it didn't do much, e.g. 3dmark api test, this one is the only thing that runs worse.
I already did a huge benchmark comparison by single threaded boost, X3TC. This is now like in the good ol win8.1 days. The wrost was RS1 and RS2.
Did a dx9 api bottleneck test @ X3TC
and it looks much better now with wddm 2.4 driver and current 17134.5, had few older as well and how it progressed/regressed, so far current RS4+397.xx combo is the best and close to old win8.1 days.
Win8.1 & 580GTX. This one is interesting, I have exactly the same min fps now with 980Ti..

I had one RS1, but it was just 1st benchmark, was testing minimum fps, since TH2 had the best 40fps, its directdraw singlethreded cpu bottleneck there, by explosion towards the end of the 1st scene.
