What's this - a GeForce GTX 780 GHz edition ?

What's this - a GeForce GTX 780 GHz edition ?

As you guys know Nvidia will launch a GeForce GTX 780 Ti next week. Which is going to be a fast product alright. But that release will still make the regular GTX 780 a little pale compared towards the R9 290. Word on the street now is that Nvidia will release a GeForce GTX 780 GHz edition to counteract the AMD releases. So that's next to the 780 Ti release.

Now the GeForce GTX 780 GHz Edition is a normal GTX 780 but has increased clock speeds of 1006 MHz core, 1046 MHz GPU Boost. The memory would remain 6.00 GHz. The card will have a new stepping tagged as "GK110-300-B1," compared to the original's "GK110-300-A1."

Asian website Expreview noticed all this as their Inno3D GTX 780 iChill HerculeZ 3000 graphics card to be based on this new silicon. it remains however speculation of the HIGHEST level whether or not there actually will be a 'GHZ' edition released. To be honest, personally I doubt it. But I like to be wrong of course.

What's wrong with the Crucial M4 010G Firmware and why hasn't it been fixed ? - 10/10/2012 11:30 AM
About a week or two ago Crucial released a new firmware update for the Crucial M4 SSDs, the firmware update is 010G. Last week I updated my M4 towards that firmware as I was still running the old firmware that could crash at 5000 used hours of the SSD ( a known and fixed problem).

The 780 superseded by 2 better cards already. Great for evolution but i wouldnt be happy if id bought a standard 780 for top dollar tbh.

There is never really a right time to buy a gpu but i feel its too close of a release to the original 780.

What's this - a GeForce GTX 780 GHz edition ?

Really pleased about this news because I just lost a GTX 780 purchase when the price went up $120.00+ USD (in Yen) this morning on Amazon.jp

Last week (and all last month at least, the ASUS GTX 780 price was around $745 USD (in Yen) on Amazon Jp.

I put one in my shoping basket, and browsed some more for extra items (Zx Evo Headset considerations), and then heard about the NVidia cards price to be dropped for the GTX 780 range; so I held off going to checkout; however, this morning when I went to look at paying via the advertised price drop, BUT I found that Amazon have JACKED-UP the price to $867 US. :bang:
http://www.amazon.co.jp/ASUSTeK-GTX780%E3%83%81%E3%83%8...

Question is;-

"Where can I buy this card for a `proper` price (which popular site) where they will POST it via Air Mail to Japan (not a US military address)? :ange:

Every site I tried from California to China do not post to Japan.

Amazon Japan, you are Kraaayyy-Zee crayon users. :pt1cable:

Take my advice from personal experience, while buying a card from another country might cost less (Be sure to check your own countries import laws for import prices), when you need to exercise the warranty for your product, it will be nothing short of a nightmare.

Hmm, I think the prices has remained the same (some cards have come down a bit actually). I was actually pretty surprised by the 780 prices when I was looking into purchasing one a month ago. They are generally double the prices of the 770 (which sells for around 40,000yen) for some reason.

This is the cheapest 780 on Amazon right now.

ASUSTek NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 GPU (67,120yen at the time of this writing).

Sites like http://kakaku.com are helpful for comparing the prices of a certain product from different Japanese websites.

You might want to try eBay and see which sellers ship to Japan (provided they don't use expensive shipping options). If you are buying from outside, you run the risk of having to pay import charges (eBay lists these when applicable or have them included in the shipping price).
