The official license model for the PS5 Western Digital WD BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD has been released.



The M.2 SSD WD BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD with PCI Express 4.0 (x4) connection was officially licensed for the PlayStation 5 model "WD BLACK SN850" on July 12, 2022, according to Western Digital Corporation. The licensed model is based on the heavy-duty PlayStation 5 game and has been carefully tested for hundreds of hours, resulting in quick and smooth gameplay comparable to internal storage. There are two variants with capacities of 1TB and 2TB, as well as a heat sink. The sequential reading transfer speed is up to 7,000MB/sec, the 2TB model is up to 5,100MB/sec, and the 1TB model is up to 5,300MB/sec. The main body is 23.4 mm wide, 80 mm deep, and 8.8 mm tall.

It will be available in the worldwide market in mid-August for $ 169.99 for the 1TB variant and $ 279.99 for the 2TB model. Furthermore, it will be launched simultaneously in Japan, and all prices are open pricing.
