Warner Bros Talks Batman Arkham Knights First patch PC

Warner Bros have been talking about the pending patch for the PC platform, after the release debacle. Below the fold fixes and details of the patch.

The new patch will be ready in a few weeks. So these will be the patch fixes:

  • Reduced frame rate hitches
  • Optimized system memory and VRAM usage
  • Improved performance on all GPUs (requires the latest drivers)
  • Min Spec AMD GPU is once again the Radeon HD 7870 2GB
  • More Robust In-Game Settings, including:
  • Added the ability to change settings for Max FPS to 30/60/90
  • Added toggles for Motion Blur, Chromatic Aberration, and Film Grain
  • Added a “High” Texture Resolution value
  • Added Texture Filtering option
  • Added an Adaptive V-Sync option (NVIDIA only)
  • Added VRAM Usage Meter
  • Added Mouse Sensitivity Slider & Mouse Smoothing Option
  • Fixed low resolution texture bugs
  • Fixed hitches when running on mechanical hard drives (HDD)

Lets hope that the majority of issues now is tackled, and a lesson has been learned for the future.

- "Frame limit" WHAT THE HELL!
Looks like WB needs to hire some ACTUAL pc devs and nuke those clowns at iron galaxy.

very needed feature. i always frame limit fps to 60 on my 60hz monitor. anything above 60fps on a 60hz monitor is useless, it just wastes power, make gpu run hot for no reason. so just because you don't understand or use frame limit doesn't mean no one else does.

Isn't the physics in UE3 locked at 30fps? I seem to remember Bioshock had issues in the past when you unlocked the framerate it caused the physics engine to get weird. Don't know if they ever fixed this.

The only instance I can think of where this could be a problem is if your physics engine is tied to your network engine.

Valve figured this out over a decade ago and simply do not allow the two systems to sync, because you'd get serious problems.

Any time I would enable interactive smoke and fog, my game would crash within minutes of game play, sometimes at the start screen. Other than the low res textures and that, game played smooth. Looking forward to playing more when the patch is finally released

I think he was talking more about the fact that you can't go over 90fps.

Besides MSi AB framelimiting is a thing.

problem is when there's a 30fps frame limiter, like... really? is there anyone who likes 30fps?
