Windows 9 seems to be handling much better than Windows 8 there. Truly optional Metro or Desktop instead of forced Metro/flip to Desktop is way better. It's how it should have been. There was no point forcing desktop users to navigate out of the Metro screen every time they logged on.
Now all they gotta do is add a media player with blu ray support and full functionality of the OS in offline mode and they have a deal. Oh and get rid of those fugly childish looking Duplo tiles in favour of the sleek, Windows 7 rounded glass look.

I think it looks fine. I want them to focus on other things aside from just start. Getting Cortana fully integrated into the OS and porting kinect features over would be awesome.
Like to me Windows should be a hub for all my information across all my devices, even if I own say an Android phone. I want the notifications on my Android phone to be shown in Windows natively, without the use of something like pushbullet.

Have not had to navigate out the Metro screen for months.
Looks good though I am not missing the start menu at all anyway.

Well, this proves one thing.
There will be choice between the Start screen and the Start menu. That's nice.
But, that Start menu is hideous to say the least.
