Valve Launches Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test for Selected Players: How to Participate
Valve has announced the launch of the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test for selected players who will have the chance to experience the game that is still in development and provide feedback to improve it before its release.
Interested players should note that meeting the requirements and following the steps does not guarantee an invitation to participate in the testing phase. To participate in the limited tests, players must have CS:GO installed on their computer since they can only access the new title through game servers. The trials are expected to take place between June and September 2023, although no specific date has been announced yet.
Valve will select players based on several factors, including recent playtime on official Valve servers, trust factor, and Steam account status. Selected players will receive a notification on the CS:GO main menu, where they can subscribe and start the download. Initially, the limited test version of Counter-Strike 2 will offer unranked deathmatch and competitive modes on Dust2.
Players can report bugs by sending an email to cs2team@valvesoftware.com with a detailed description, exact reproduction steps, and any other relevant information. All weapons, stickers, and other items in a player's CS:GO inventory will be available for use in Counter-Strike 2. XP earned in the limited trial can be transferred directly to CS:GO, and players can stream the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test.
While playing Counter-Strike 2, players can only play against other players who are playing the same version of the game as they are. Competitive cooldowns will be shared between CS:GO and Counter-Strike 2, and banned accounts will not be able to play Counter-Strike 2 on VAC protected servers. The Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test will only be available for Windows, and players cannot modify inventory items in-game or create or play on training maps or community servers during the trial. Keep an eye on the CS:GO blog for updates on the limited test and future announcements.

I'll be honest and be a bit cynical here but I really hate Valve's way of working. Valve is like an abusive boyfriend, he ignores you for years on end yet you still fawn over that one tiny bit of attention he gives you every couple of months.
Sure an engine rework is great but lets sum it all up from what we've seen so far.
- New tick-rate (or elimination of it.)
- Remastered maps.
- New smoke mechanic.
- Remastered lightning/graphics.
This isn't groundbreaking stuff yet people praise it as the second coming of christ because its Valve and they mastered the art of positive PR by giving you stockholm syndrome.
I'm not saying its bad i'm just saying this isnt crazy stuff, i'm just a little bitter because Valve doesn't do anything anymore. The last game we got from them was Half Life Alyx which I couldn't even play because im not investing into VR.
And even Half Life Alyx wasn't that great in my opinion.
