We reported about these value Series 5 SSDs late March, Intel is now offering them though. Intel is launching the 540S-ssd series, based on TLC nand flash memory. The SSD series will receive 16nm tlc-memory from SK Hynix.

The units will be available in 2.5"- and M2 formats. You will spot the Intel SSD 540S-series with six models at 120, 180, 240, 360 en 480GB and one 1TB version. The controller will be the Silicon Motion SM2256 that also is used in the Crucial BX200 SSD series. From the top of my head this will be the first series from Intel based on TLC, also interesting to see is that Intel has moved away from Micron as they are using SK Hynix NAND here.
