The USB Implementers Forum has published the logos that manufacturers can use on USB gear that are capable of 240 watts of charging. It pertains to five logos for various products, including chargers and cables.

USB-INF, the organization responsible for the USB standard, states that the new marks are intended to give consumers with a "easy manner" to identify the performance and energy characteristics of approved USB cables, hosts and devices as well as chargers. Adding five logos for 240W charging, each of which is divided into three categories, should help to accomplish this goal. To give an example, there are different logos for the packaging and the items themselves when it comes to cables and chargers. On the other hand, there is a separate category for the combination with USB 4 40Gbit/s or USB4 Gen 3x2 technology. Consumers should be aware that there are USB 4 20Gbit/s products with a logo for 240W charging as well as USB 4 40Gbit/s products with a logo for 60W charging, which should be taken into consideration. You may learn more about the numerous USB versions and Power Delivery in the background article. The USB standard is still up in the air.

Earlier this year, the USB-C specification was revised to provide support for high-capacity charging up to 240W. This version was issued as Version 2.1. With that redesign came the introduction of the Extended Power Range for charging via USB Power Delivery, which allowed for combinations with voltages ranging from 28V to 48V and currents ranging from 5A to 15A.
