US Prices of AMD Ryzen Processors Surface As Well - Starts at $316.59

US Prices of AMD Ryzen Processors Surface As Well - Starts at $316.59

Yesterday we already showed you the EU prices of the top end R7 Ryzen processors. Now in the USA the prices have surfaced in ShopBLT as well, again on the 8-core 16-threaded R7 processors.

We again see prices on the three premium SKUs, the 8-core / 16 threaded models. The information on the three SKUs matches yesterdays news in relation to models alright. So unless AMD is pulling a rabbit out of somewhere it seems clear by now that these are the three products they will be launching with. And sure, that is a very nice lineup to start with alright. All models are multiplier unlocked and the top end SKU will indeed get a really nice 4 GHz boost frequency, likely on at least two out of the 8 cores.

  • The flagship AMD Ryzen R7-1800X would get SKU code "YD180XBCAEWOF," and is  listed for USD $490.29.
  • The AMD Ryzen R7-1700X (YD170XBCAEWOF) is listed at $381.72.
  • Then there is the AMD Ryzen R7-1700 (YD1700BBAEBOX), with 65W TDP, which is priced at $316.59.

Interesting times folks, you can look up these prices for yourself at ShopBLT as it is all available and out wide in the open to see for everybosy. You'll also spot again (which validates yesterdays news item that the two X models get a 95 Watt TDP and the 1700 (non X) version will be a 65 Watt product).

Update: as I write this yet anoter leak, this one is in Brittish pounds. It seems that "X" models are Without Heatsink Fan, so these require your own cooler and the listed clocks are Boost.

Then we also stumbled into this listing moments ago:

kikatek.com

http://www.kikatek.com/P893985/YD180XBCAEWOF-AMD-RYZEN-7-1800X-4-0GHZ-8-CORE-SKT

Here something interesting is happening look at the MHz values,  you can see the Boost clocks listed. at 3.7 GHz for the R7 1700, then 3.8 for the 1700X and then a 4 GHz Boost clock for the 1800X processor.

Below an overview of Ryzen content / Prices listed in the EU as published yesterday - the prices in the EU seem a notch higher but in the USA they add sales tax:
--- ------- ---

Spanish website elchapuzas informatico claims to have the prices including VAT for their region in the world, and they are very sure that thay have the right information at hand. They even claim the prices will be close to a few euros precise. They have info on the following three Ryzen processors, all 8 cores 16 threaded parts, indicative of what AMD would be launching with (Summit Ridge):

AMD Ryzen R7 1800X

They start with the AMD Ryzen R7 1800X . This is the flagship processor and it has has 8 cores with 16 threads and is assumed to get a Boost frequency of 4.00 GHz. The boost frequencies are not confirmed, but the indications we have seen the past few weeks would state a 4.0 GHz Turbo and 3.6 Ghz base clock. No further data was revealed. Now keep in mind (if the perf is close) a similar 8-core Intel CPU would cost you about 1,200 euros, the cost for the flasgship Ryzen R7 1800X processor would be 599.99 euros. These are unlocked (multiplier) processors.

AMD Ryzen R7 1700X

The next AMD Ryzen in line is the R7 1700X, this one would again get 8 cores and 16 threads but this time at a Turbo frequency of 3.80 GHz, so yes this is pretty much the same processor, just with a lower base and Turbo frequency albeit the turbo on this model is again not confirmed. Both R7 1700X and 1800x are focused at enthusiast and professional usage and the price for the 1700X would be 469.99 euros .

AMD Ryzen R7 1700

Then there is the AMD R7 Ryzen 1700, this would be a top-end CPU for gamers and yes, again you'll receive an 8 core and 16 threads processor. This time at a Turbo frequency of 3.70 GHz, the most notable being that it is the only model that indicates a TDP, which is set as 65W whereas the other two would be 95 Watt parts. This unit indeed could be very attractive to DiY PC gamers and would cost 389.95 euros which is spot on with the Core i7 7700K. Even if the IPC perf would be a notch slower due to clock frequencies, you'd still get the 8-cores over 4 on that Intel processor.

I noticed a question in the forums asking if these processors all are unlocked. Yes, according towards a slide rpesented by AMD a while ago ALL Ryzen processors will be unlocked for their mulitpliers. I have added that slide to this news item.

These three units are the only ones listed at elchapuzasinformatico.com, if true then the Ryzen platform could be incredibly price competitive. The validity of these price claims are unknown, but they seem pretty sure and confident of themselves. Prices in SUD should not be far off as the prices mentioned above include VAT.

Older info that matches the Flagship naming:

Previously we have already discussed the R7, R5 and R3 denominators. These are comparable to Core i3, i5 and i7 for the Ryzen product range. Coolaler (a few days ago) claimed there is listing there will be 17 models released 8C/16T, 6C/12T, 4C/8T, 4C/4T yet not a 8C/8T. That reads as the number of cores and threads. AMD R7 is the 8C/16T series with 5 models: R7 1800X, R7 PRO 1800, R7 1700X, R7 1700, R7 PRO 1700 we guess is X is the identifier for unlocked.

AMD R3 1100 4 4 3.1 - 3.4 GHz
AMD R3 Pro 1100 4 4 3.1 - 3.4 GHz

The PRO extension is unclear. Final R7 clocks frequencies are unknown but expect ~ 3.6GHz for the base clocks with we assume up-to 4.0 GHz boost/turbo clocks.

The more mainstream AMD R5 range will see 6C/12T and 4C/8T processors. Two of the four from a total of 8 models, including R5 1600X, R5 PRO 1600, R5 1500, R5 PRO 1500, R5 1400X, R5 PRO 1400, R5 1300, R5 PRO 1300, you can see an X Version for the 1600 and 1400. Baseclocks will start at 3.2GHz up-to 3.5GHz, with unspecified Turbo frequencies.

Then there is the more entry level AMD R3 range with is 4C/4T. Four are the R3 1200X, R3 PRO 1200, R3 1100, R3 PRO 1100, there is one X version, the base clock is 3.1 ~ 3.4GHz with unspecified turbos. Not bad for entry level processors starting at quad core. It does confirm the fact that there will not be any dual-core processors.

From the looks of it AMD Ryzen will become available at or in the week of March 2. All information in this news item remains speculation.

The EU gets so much screwed lately
I think they're good prices, let's see performance.

EU is not a nice place to live in if you like PC hardware. I guess it could be for some other things needed in life, at least locally here and there, the differences between countries being huge in the EU in many ways. But then again, I personally live in one of the most expensive countries in the world, so it would be unreasonable to except PC hardware to be priced below outrageous either.

They could take 20% off the EU pricing to show it without VAT, but I think people would have a meltdown and consider that dishonest.

Pretty competitive prices still considering what an octacore costs at Intel. But... without benches it's pretty much useless to try and figure out if the prices are justified by performance.

So I'm still hoping that HH gets his review samples in time for Ryzen's launch :D
