US government blacklists Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi
The US government has blacklisted Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi for alleged ties to the Chinese military. Huawei was already added to this list earlier.
The move is the latest move by outgoing President Donald Trump's administration in its China policy, which is likely to increase tensions between the two superpowers. US investors are forced by the ban to relinquish their interests in Xiaomi, and eight other Chinese companies that have been blacklisted.
Xiaomi said in a statement that the company "is not owned, controlled or associated with the Chinese military". The Chinese company says it will take "appropriate" action against the sanctions, but how is unclear.
Trump has characterized his presidency, which ends Wednesday, with a strong anti-China policy. Not much is clear about how future President Joe Biden will deal with China. His transfer team did not respond to a request for comment to Reuters news agency.

Don't get how can anyone defend China and CCP here. They are the regime that has concentration camps where the political prisoners are forced to work, have their organs harvested, are reeducated and more and it was going on for decades. China is waging a war with the entire world, most just don't realize it. While you can be critical of Trump and his foreign policies, the dealing with China are one of the great moves he made. After all, we are the ones who invest and subsidize the CCP, give them technology and this needs to stop. We'll se what Biden will do, but I doubt he will be anything but very open to CCP.

Stop pretending that the USA hasn't done(doesn't do) concentration camps, forced work(prisons) or re-education

US doesn't have concentration camps, there aren't political prisoners and despite TV and Twitter censoring wrongthink, I still wouldn't call it forced reeducation.
Anyway, you can be critical of both.

Its all in how you define the terms. The anti migrant propaganda set up by certain racist government officials has done a good job at getting you to think the men, women and children locked up at the border for years aren't actually concentration camps (they are).
there aren't political prisoners
That you are aware of. (and if its a matter of security, why would you)
A sovereign nation is entitled to do with its citizens as it wishes, and so long as the country that claims to police what is and isn't crimes of humanity refuses to front up and face its own charges of crimes against humanity who are they to claim the moral high-ground.
the peoples republic wield the USA's history of playing both sides as rationale against the perceived weakness of a democratic republic..
All of our countries have skeletons in the closet to pull out, own up to and better ourselves for, some have been better than others in moving away from tribalistic wartime mentality.
