Upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 11 only possible with clean install

Upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 11 only possible with clean install

So yeah that's not an actual upgrade. Users who wish to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 11 will be able to do so only through a clean install. The upgrade will be free, but it will not contain documents or installed apps.

The information became clear from a Lenovo FAQ regarding the new operating system, this is stated. It is based on Microsoft's own information. To update to Windows 11, it specifies that "hardware-compliant devices" must undergo a clean install or reinstall.

It solely applies to Windows 7, and it makes no mention of devices running Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. Windows 11 will be a free update for existing Windows 10 devices. Users may easily update to the latest operating system while keeping their papers and current apps. Microsoft has stated that applications designed for Windows 7 will run on Windows 11.

That's not a problem, as people still on Windows 7 won't ever upgrade.

Their privacy is worth more than a secure OS.

Let's just hope they're not connected to the internet.

I remember when Windows 7 turned up onto the scene, that 64 bit goodness was such an improvement over 'that which shall not be named'

If 7 users hadnt upgraded to 10, why would they go to 11? Everything they hate about 10 will be compounded in 11.

Also, most machines running 7 wont fill the requirements needed to install 11

The fact that Win 10 and 11 are insanely invasive sucks but anyone on Win 7 doesn't have much of a choice but to move on, too many modern features are being left out of Win 7 and and security has to be an issue. It's time to move on and surrender your data to MS.
