With the newest Enemies tech demo, Unity Technologies is reinforcing its priority on graphical quality. The video below demonstrates a photo-realistic woman in real-time.

A Unity blog post titled "Enemies" delves into some of the improvements made since the previous tech demo, The Heretic. A novel tension technology enables the mapping of wrinkles and bloodflow without the need of cumbersome facial rigs, while a skin attachment technique enables high-density meshes on the skin's surface to resemble peach fuzz. The demo also includes a new hair solution for more convincing locks, as well as a new skin shader and more reactive eyes.

As a consequence, some fairly lifelike screenshots are produced. But there's something unsettling about the animation in motion, an unclear sheen to the lights. It looks excellent.
