Ubisoft online store leaks Battlefield 4 system requirements
In a fortunate event Battlefield 4′s system requirements are stated to be similar to those of Battlefield 3. By mistake the specs have been publish on Ubisoft’s online store, but also could be a placeholder. Interestingly it mentions that the minimum operating system for BF4 is 32-bit Windows Vista on SP1, while the Alpha trials required a 64-bit Windows Vista running SP2. Being that the Alpha trail required more “juice” suggests that the requirements on Ubisoft’s site were/are a placeholder, bogus, or both. Not to mention, they looks extremely close to BF3′s requirements.
Ubisoft has since removed the post, but nof course there is a screen capture. Below are system requirements for Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4 Alpha, and the ones posted on Ubisoft’s site for Battlefield 4′s retail copy.
[UPDATE] Redditor Offspring, who is listed as an EA Employee/Origin Producer, said: ”I don’t believe the final system requirements have been decided yet, and this looks a lot like placeholder system requirements from BF3 with a couple of tweaks. I know everyone’s excited for BF4 news, but I wouldn’t trust an Ubisoft page with system requirements for it just yet.”
So there you have it. Out of anything we have seen so far regarding this information, it seems this would be the best source we have. Not really surprising, given that we already know the engine is more intensive than BF3, unless their optimization system took some steroids since 2011. Important to note though is that if you can currently play BF3 at anything higher than the lowest settings, you should be fine in regards to BF4.
