Ubisoft is cutting off online gameplay for 15 games, players will no longer have access to purchased DLC
Ubisoft has stated that the online services for 15 games will be decommissioned on September 1. Users will no longer be able to play the multiplayer and co-op modes in these games, linking accounts and online features will no longer work, and, worst of all, users will lose access to DLC they purchased.
These games' online components will cease to function on PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360. The remastered editions of Assassin's Creed 3 and Far Cry 3 will continue to function normally, but you will need to purchase them if you only own the original versions. While the most of these games are over a decade old, Space Junkies is a remarkable exception, having only been released three years ago. It's a multiplayer-only VR game that Ubisoft is still selling (for as much as $20) despite the fact that it will become entirely unplayable in two months.

The hate and discontent for Ubisoft is tiresome.

I've appreciated FarCry since 3. I still think 4 was the best entry in the series so far and played it several times over. I played 5 and thought it was different, but interesting in it's own way. I give them major kudos for the ending of 5 which took a lot of guts to commit to. I recently played 6 and it's a nice change narratively from the previous entries, going with a named character who is pictured in third person in all the cut scenes. I thought 6 was the strongest narrative they've had, and I really enjoyed my time with it. However, it wasn't as addictive as FC4 from a game loop perspective. All told, I've probably put 300+ hours in to the Far Cry series since FC3.
I played a few Assassin's games back at the beginning of that series, but their take on the open world format just didn't grab me. It felt too wooden. I also couldn't care less about all the drama around that damn apple. I ignored the series for years after Brotherhood until a friend of mine gave me the hard sell on Origins. He knew how much I liked the Tomb Raider series and explained they brought AC much more in line with that. I was blown away by Origins. I picked it up on a half price sale around the time the last DLC came out on UPLAY and it was great. I put a hundred hours into it. That got me hooked on the newer AC format. I eventually bought Odyssey as well and had a repeat experience. The DLC for that one wasn't as good, but I still put another 100+ hours into it. A couple months ago I picked up Valhalla, but haven't had time to play it yet with work being busy.
I've also enjoyed some of the smaller games they've had over the years like Child of Light, Valliant Hearts, Trials, and Grow Home. They deserve some credit for putting out these titles that most "big publishers" would completely ignore in favor of putting all their chips in on the big AAA game.
I'm not much of a multiplayer gamer, but I did spend 50 hours or so each in The Division and The Division 2 with some friends from work. I thought those games were more enjoyable than similar co-op shooters like Destiny (which I found beautiful, but boring). I never got into Watchdogs or any of the Tom Clancy stuff, so no comment there. I've always wanted to try an Anno game, but I have a stupid huge backlog of stuff I want to play more, so I haven't gotten around to buying one to add to the pile yet.

The concept aside, I don't play any of the 15 games mentioned nor do I believe I'd have any interest in the online mode of any of them.
Does anyone actually play these games today? Space Junkies is the most recent one if I understand right, and I never heard of it.
I'm looking through my Steam list... It seems I have Anno 2070, Far Cry 3, Assassin's Creed III Remastered that was all bought on sale. Though, I've never played them.
