Ubisoft has announced Ghost Recon Breakpoint, however this round the game is entirely not going to be available on Steam. Two previous games still could be preordered through Steam, but even that is not the case anymore.

From the looks of it, Ubisoft has had enough of Steam and now moves solely towards their own Uplay and Epic game store. Companies have been complaining that Steam has become a too expensive platform with fees running towards 30 to40% of their sales. In March Epic Games announced that the collaboration with Ubisoft will continue and that several games would appear in the Epic Games store. On the Ubisoft Steam publisher page there is in any case nothing under the heading 'upcoming releases'.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is the successor of Wildlands and the character Nomad from that game makes his return. The action game will be released on October 4 for the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. The game is set on the fictional island group Auroa, where the research complex of the also fictional tech billionaire Jace Skell is located. The US Army discovers suspicious activity and sends Nomad to investigate. Nomad's mission soon turns into a survival fight when his helicopter is shot out of the sky and he is the only one left of the team. The facility appears to have been taken over by The Wolves, a group of Ghosts who act hostile.
