TSMC will no longer accept orders from Huawei Starting September
Starting September 14 TSMC will stop accepting orders from Chinese company Huawei, leaving it without a partner to manufacture its chips.
This is due to the United States sales restrictions prevent selling all products manufactured with US patents to Huawei. TSMC currently manufactures the full range of products for HiSilicon, Huawei's subsidiary dedicated to chip design. This includes the Kirin chips used in the company's smartphones, and the new Kunpeng SOCs for desktop computers, so Huawei will be in serious trouble losing TSMC. Reuters just confirmed this information as well.
The Chinese giant will have to find who makes these SOCs, since they are a key part of its business, and according to industry sources, it would already be talking to SMIC, a semiconductor manufacturing company that uses 100% Chinese technology. However, SMIC only makes chips at 14nm, so it's not enough for the brand's top-performing products, and they will have to continue the search. The problem is that almost all the other companies in the field use US technology, so they are not enabled to sell to Huawei, leaving it in Checkmate.
It will be interesting to see what solution Huawei finds to this problem, or if it ends up reaching an agreement with the United States to get out of this complex situation.

That's just a peaceful answer of the independent Taiwan to the "peaceful" intention of the PRC to annex Taiwan in the future.
And yes, a certain government attitude of a country in the North America doesn't help, but that doesn't mean that you can support either PRC or either that country in the North America...

if anything related to current china (goverment)
isnt it because their respond nowdays become so "high-profile" lately ?
if i watch news related to china, especially the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian in how they respond to the situation, they like make threat
to AUS when questioning covid, then to UK related to hongkong, next india conflict, uyghurs
now france/canada also joining into the play aswell?
with tension already been heating up with US, then also to taiwan, and japan (related to senkaku/diaoyutai island)
even some news reported china claim Vladivostok, not sure if it just hoax or not, but lmao
some might say this just "world politics" to show/prove who have the (control) power
but really the china gov. now is like making enemy with rest of the world lol
in current era where each nation related to each other, with same goal (to become more prosper country)
it still to hard for human to create equal-peaceful state, and keep going back to "power" (aka control)
then the history repeat
for huawei product, especially their smartphone
as many phone build in china, there are many alternative imo
aside xiaomi, those BBK electronics group (oneplus, oppo, vivo, realme) ... many will find those similar (specs/parts-wise) with plus-minus

@slyphnier Don't forget all of the countries in the South China Sea and Mekong River. If you think Australia, France, and Canada are mad, they're happy in comparison.
