Taiwan's most valuable company and the world's largest chipmaker, TSMC , revealed that its 4nm manufacturing process will arrive earlier than expected. Specifically, the company says that test production will begin in the third quarter of this year (Q3 2021), moving forward a full quarter. However, the 3nm node is still scheduled to start mass production next year. The Taiwanese giant also commented on its new N5A technology based on the 5nm manufacturing process. Its aim is to offer a more efficient and powerful solution for the automotive industry to enhance the AI-enabled functions and digitization of the vehicle cabin.

Additionally, this process meets all AEC-Q100 Grade 2 quality standards and reliability requirements for automobile production and should be available by Q3 2022. The company mentioned that its 3DFabric design further expands its 3D silicon stacking and packaging. In other words, it allows you to expand the flat 'floor' sizes of chiplet designs and high-bandwidth memory solutions. Specifically, the so-called InFO_B solution is designed to offer powerful yet compact processors in a small package, hence mobile devices, by stacking DRAM memory.
