Transcend announced the release of the NVMe M.2 SSD MTE300S, which supports the M.2 2230 form factor.

The MTE300S is a rare NVMe M.2 SSD that supports the ultra-compact form factor of M.2 2230, making it suitable for upgrading thin and light notebook PCs, tablet terminals, portable gaming PCs, and other similar devices. The capacity lineup includes two models: 256GB and 512GB. The bus interface is PCI Express 3.0 (x4), and the NAND flash is high-quality 3D NAND. It also supports functions such as SLC cache, LDPC ECC, garbage collection, and SMART.

The main specs are impressive, with a sequential read speed of 2,000MB/s, a write speed of 950MB/s for the 256GB model and 1,100MB/s for the 512GB model, 90,000 IOPS random read, 220,000 IOPS write, and a total write capacity of 100TBW for the 256GB model and 200TBW for the 512GB model. The MTBF is 2 million hours, write capacity per day is 0.21 DWPD (5 years), and the product warranty is 5 years.

The MTE300S measures 22mm wide, 30mm deep, 2.23mm thick (single-sided mounting), and weighs only 4g. The "SSD Scope software" that allows you to check the status and performance of the SSD is also provided for download.

The price for the MTE300S is not yet available, but the TS256GMTE300S (256GB) and TS512GMTE300S (512GB) models are expected to be released in late February. As of February 16, 2023, the exchange rate for 1 yen to euro is approximately 0.007 euros, but the price will depend on the conversion rate at the time of release.
