TP-Link Releases band Archer A7 AC1750 Router

TP-Link today unveiled the Archer A7 AC1750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router, the latest addition to the brand’s lineup of affordable networking solutions. The Archer A7 provides families with a quality Wi-Fi router that doesn’t skimp on the features, providing dual band AC1750 speeds for fast lag-free gaming, 4k video streaming and internet surfing experience for any budget.

Designed with three high-gain antennas to increase Wi-Fi signal strength and strong amplifiers to boost the signal throughout homes up to 2500 sq. ft., the Archer A7 is perfect for families that are tired of competing for bandwidth. With dual band speeds up to 1750Mbps*, Archer A7 provides Wi-Fi 3x faster than the traditional wireless-N routers common in many homes today. This combination of speed and performance can support upwards of 50 different connections across the home from smart phones, tablets and laptops to smart TVs and voice assistants to fit your every Wi-Fi need.

Archer A7 also comes equipped with WPA/WPA2 security measures to protect your family’s privacy and its devices, as well as the ability to separate and secure access for guests with a built-in guest network. Additional security measures, like parental controls, keep you in control of the content your children have access to.

Using the TP-Link Tether app or web interface, you can set up and manage your home Wi-Fi network easily. The Tether app makes it simple to quickly access Wi-Fi settings for the Archer A7 and download the latest firmware updates from your phone.

“With built-in security and parental controls, the Archer A7 offers a feature-packed router that is priced right, providing great value for years to come,” said Wang.

Key Features at a Glance:

  • Dual band Wi-Fi speeds up to 1750 Mbps* (Using N450 + AC1300)
  • Powerful Qualcomm CPU for high-speed processing and strong Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Strong Wi-Fi signal and speed throughout homes up to 2500 sq. ft.
  • Bandwidth prioritizing (QoS) to balance devices and applications for a lag-free experience
  • USB share port for easy cloud storage or photo, music, and video sharing
  • Easy setup and management via the TP-Link Tether app, available for both Android and iOS, or web interface
  • WPA/WPA2 security
  • AP mode
  • Compatible with Amazon Alexa and IFTTT
  • 2-year warranty and free 24/7 technical support

Price & Availability

TP-Link Archer A7 Dual Band Wi-Fi Routers are currently available exclusively through Amazon for $79.99 USD.

I wonder if this comes with the standard backdoor insecurities as well. Just like Intel's new Chip... Vulnerabilities Included!

Does changing your provider router actually help with anything? Maybe (just) stronger wifi signal?
