Toshiba Expands MN and MG Series 3.5-Inch HDDs with 20TB Capacity Models

Over in ASIA Toshiba's MN and MG series of 3.5-inch HDDs will already include 20TB models. The introduced models, namely MN10ACA20T and MG10ACA20TE, are primarily intended for NAS and enterprise-level use. 



The presented models utilize helium-filled and CMR (Conventional Magnetic Recording) technologies. The 20TB capacity is configured through a ten-disk setup, and Toshiba's proprietary FC-MAMR (magnetic Flux-Controlled) technology aids in enhancing recording density. The salient specifications of these models encompass a rotational speed of 7,200rpm, a buffer size of 512MB, SATA 6Gbps interface, and a data transfer rate of 268MB/s. The MN series records a mean time to failure (MTTF) of 1.2 million hours, and for the MG series, it stands at 2.5 million hours. The respective annual workload ratings are 180TB and 550TB.

The available MN series in japan the models are MN10ACA20T/JP, MN10ACA20T/JP2 (set of 2), and MN10ACA20T/JP-EC (enhanced EC package). For the MG series, the models are MG10ACA20TE/JP and MG10ACA20TE/JP-EC (enhanced EC package). It won't likely be long before we see them overseas.
