Three Coffee Lake Processor Specs and Details Revealed

Last week I already showed you a CPU-Z screen-shot of a six-core Coffee Lake processor, this round there is information available on three SKUS.

Coffee Lake (8th gen) six-core processor just surfaced on the web and looking at the hardware registers, it shows is indeed is based on a LGA1151 socket but also shows the fact that it'll be based on a TDP of 80 and/or 95W.

The screenshot last week was based upon an engineering which would have a base clock of 3.5 GHz. Most interesting obviously is the Turbo, and since the multiplier is set at a maximum of 43, thus processor will be running at least two if its six cores at 4300 MHz when it is boosting. The unit has a 12MB L3 cache. Earlier on Canard PC suggested this SKU would be called the Core i7-8700K, but would be based on a 3.7 GHz base frequency, with the i5-8600 at a base clock of 3.6 GHz. So this processor seems to be a different one.

This new diagram however just leaked showing three six cores processors. The presumable i7 8700K with 95W TDP, 3.7 GHz base clock, 4 GHz boost for 4/6 cores, 4.2 GHz for dual core and 4.3 GHz for a single core (likely 2 threads).

Then there will be a 95W part with 3.2 GHz base clock and 3.4 GHz boost for 4/6 cores, and 3.6 GHz boost for 1 or two 2 threads.

The last SKU is a 65W chip with a base clock of 3.1 GHz but 4/6 core turbos to 3.9 GHz. Dual core boost is 4.1 GHz while single core goes up to 4.2 GHz:

This looks quite disappointing really.

Intel gives us back quad core with dual core glued on top of it. So much for innovation and supreme technology.... "sarcasm"

I really didn't expect Intel to give us 6 core i5s I figured they would drop 4cores with ht down to the new i5 and make 6+ cores i7/i9

the 4.3 GHz clock is for a single core, according to this diagram.

Well, unless I'm blind there's nothing mentioned regarding threads/HT.

6 cores are fine and dandy but if they actually take HT off of the i5s again a 1600(X) would still look a lot more appealing in contrast.

If they do bless the i5's with HT it'll likely chip away at their used-to i7 margins.

For Intel it appears to be a lose-lose situation currently.

That's because they were stupid enough to introduce another line of processors.
The lineup will be even more confusing now because there'll be more overlap. They should just stick to some basic ****ing rules for each line so the consumer easily knows what he's getting.

Let them lose. They deserve it because of their disgusting i9 shenanigans. I don't know how they have the guts to price those things so high.
