Threadripper Gen1 Processor prices have been lowered

Threadripper Gen1 Processor prices have been lowered

While the Gen2 Threadripper series is pretty sweet, and yes that is an understatement, it, however, could be very interesting to look into a Gen1 processor at the moment. 299 USD for the 8c/16t 1900X anyone?

So yeah, if you need loads of threads, or just would like the massive PCIe lane infrastructure, or quad-channel memory .. hey these are all very valid reasons to look into a Gen1 proc.

The 1920X for example with its 12 cores and 24 threads sells at 399 USD now. And mind you these are MSRP prices, so likely in retail/etail you can spot them even cheaper. The 16-cores / 32 threaded 1950X sells at 799 USD now.

1920X for about £349 in the UK, that's stunning value really. And you can upgrade to the 2nd gen Threadripper when they come down eventually (and they will) :)
