The Witcher 3 No XP Glitch Fix Coming On June 1st
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC will receive a new patch on Monday (June 1) which will carry fix for the nasty "no XP Glitch" in the game. In addition to this, CD Projekt Red clarified that this No XP Glitch in The Witcher 3 won't have any impact whatsoever on the game balance
Marcin Momot, CD Projekt Red Community Manager stated:
We would like to let everyone know that we are aware of the XP glitch players are reporting and we are working to have it fixed as soon as possible across all platforms (Monday for PC & patch 1.04 on consoles in the following days).
At the same time we want to shed some light on the issue. First of all, it doesn't impact the game balance in any significant way. Also, you will be able to finish the game with your character achieving a level within the threshold we had in mind when we designed the game.
We hope this clears things up a bit. Again, rest assured, we won’t stop working on improving the game and there are more patches coming in the near future.
In related news, good news Nvidia users.
A few days ago Nvidia reported on working on driver updates to address Kepler issues with The Witcher 3. It appears though, that Kepler owners will enjoy a performance boost in several games with the new driver. Nvidia's ManuelG noted that the upcoming drivers will offer a universal fix for Kepler GPUs that will boost performance in various PC games. That's good news indeed, especially considering recent allegations that Nvidia is crippling older GPUs performance in the latest games in order to promote its new Maxwell series, something that is quite evident in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as the game runs considerably worse on Kepler GPUs compared to Maxwell 900 series.

Yup. Especially the last thing you mentioned. When a card as the 780Ti (especially) runs worse than their budget card 960; that can't even compete with it's high-end predecessor - Trying to make sense of it, is like I've been hit with a baseball bat. (I can understand peoples frustration) as I've probably never encountered this when it comes to cards.
But that said, The Witcher is a great accomplishment, and only time will tell on how optimized everything will be in the end, and I'm sure people will be pleased when things gets on track again, which is probably a lot sooner than we expect.
I've been all messed up as well with all this drama; "Kepler degrade;" yada-yada - but at least people know that work is under progress.
I got no issues waiting. We're gamers right? Look at the bright side, once all in order we'll probably miss Temeria, even after those 200 hours it takes to go through The Witcher 3.
Cheers.

Spec wise the 780 seems to be superior to the 970 and if Nvidia will honestly provide the best optimization possible for Kepler on the most recent drivers can we expect the 780 to perform better than the 970 or will that be a pipe dream ?

No, you should get exactly the same amount of XP regardless of your level. Remember, there is no level scaling in this game, so why should quest's be an exception?
You dont get any XP if the quest is 6 levels below your level. And you picked the quest up after 1.04 patch.

Ouch that bad huh?
If there's a universal fix, I hate to say it but it's hard to believe they didn't notice this missing key before. I love NV GPUs but at the same time it looks very suspicious.
