The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen was revealed about a year ago, and its developer shared a preview this past weekend. In this new 4K video, we can see new shots of this long-awaited texture update.

Regrettably, we have no information on its release. For the time being, we only know that its developer, HalkHogan, hinted at the prospect of collaborating with CD Projekt Red on the creation of The Witcher 3's NextGen version. This collaboration was confirmed a few months later when HalkHogan confirmed receiving news of the study and CDPR commented on the subject:

In addition to our own development efforts on the next next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5 and PC. We are also in talks with creators of various MODS for the 2015 version of the game. However, as of this moment, we do not have any binding agreement with any of those parties.

he Witcher 3's NextGen edition now has a new release date in the second half of 2022. This delay is necessary since the firm must first focus on the Cyberpunk 2077 comparable upgrade. Additionally, The Witcher 3 is a seven-year-old game, making it more difficult to incorporate new features.

HD Reworked Project is one of the most popular mods for The Witcher 3 and we hope its NextGen version will be just as popular with fans. Furthermore, its creator has shown interest in creating a similar mod for Cyberpunk 2077 in the future . Not surprisingly, the developers at CDPR decided to turn to him and other modders in the community to assist them in developing the updates.
