The Samsung Galaxy S23 is rumored to cost an additional 150 Euros (+specs)

The Samsung Galaxy S23 is rumored to cost an additional 150 Euros (+specs)

According to a recent report by WinFuture journalist Roland Quandt, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 models are expected to be 100 to 150 euros more expensive in Europe than their predecessors.

Quandt cites prices from a Spanish retailer. According to the report, the least expensive Galaxy S23 model would retail for 959 euros, compared to 859 euros for the S22 at launch. The S23 Ultra is expected to start at 1409 euros, compared to 1259 euros for the S22 Ultra. Additionally, the S23+ is reportedly priced at 1209 euros at the Spanish retailer, a significant increase of 150 euros compared to the 1049 euros at which the S22+ was released. Prices will be a notch lower or higher as VAT rates differ per country. The new, even more, minimal design of the Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ is an evolution rather than a reinvention when compared to its predecessors. So that the optics only stick out slightly from the back, Samsung primarily "removes" the camera hump and refines a few details on the case. Samsung is expected to unveil the new models at an Unpacked event next week, which is expected to showcase the new phones.

My first "high end" phone cost me £300. I won't pay more than that nowadays.

I bought a Samsung A52s last year for €300, really happy with it. I do not need a €1500 phone at all. Times have changed. Now the cheap variants are fast enough for apps and internet. That certainly wasn't the case in the past.

+1 yep as far it can browse the internet play videos and mp3 and make calls I am set ! The only reason I changed my xaomi note 4x 2018 140 euro phone on 4 years was cause I broke it's screen ! Else it was more than covering my needs !

Yaks, people still buying Scamsung??
Their phone have some good things, like camera and screens, but the rest is just OK, not the high end i expect.

Still, Huawei make the best phones overall, it's a shame they don't have Google.

Currently using the ROG6 as a daily driver, and i don't see the S23 touching it at all(except cameras, of course).

????
the entry samsung phone costs 180€ do you know an iphone that costs 30€?
in my country the s22 "normal" costs less 200€ than the Iphone 14
maybe android nerds are telling the truth and not blind sighted

I suppose i did not specify that i meant entry level samsung FLAGSHIP. Odd how anyone would think i'd be comparing the pricing of an iPhone 14 with some 200 Euro Samsung Android that lags outside of the box, in a thread about the latest pricing of the FLAGSHIP Samsung S23.

Also, i understand that over the course of a year a Samsung does get cheaper than an iPhone, but people don't want to wait a year for they're favorite brand phone to depreciate in value just so that it makes more sense to buy over an IPhone. If they do keep this pricing on release it will be more expensive than the cheapest iphone on release.

I think they made these pricing decisions when EUR value was still low and below USD few months ago. But now it has bounced back up, yet they still want to charge Europeans more. At least Europe finally gets high end Snapdragon chip, no more Exynos garbage.
