The New ACER Predator X34 34-Inch G-Sync Curved Gaming Monitor

We reported about this model a couple of times already, but it now is officially announced and reelased. Acer is releasing the Predator X34.  Utilizing the NVIDIA G-SYNC display technology for reducing screen tearing or display lag, this new 34-inch IPS LED-backlight monitor supports a native resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels and provides 21:9 aspect ratio.

Actually Acer released two 34" ultra-wide gaming screens, the XR341CK and the XR341CKA. These new screens offered 34" curved format screens with a 21:9 aspect ratio and 3440 x 1440 resolution based on a LG AH-IPS panel, boosted refresh rates and a selection of advanced gaming features including AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-sync respectively.

It has a 1000:1 contrast ratio (100 million:1 ACM), 300 cd/m2 brightness, 4ms response time and 172/178 degree viewing angles.  The Predator X34 is equipped with built-in stereo speakers (7Wx2 w/ DTS Sound Audio technology) and has 1x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort and 4-port USB 3.0 hub.

The Acer Predator X34 will retail for $1,299.99 in the US.

I wish a monitor manufacturer would include GSync and Freesync in a single monitor - I just can't stand the thought of trying to decide one or the other monitor and then being stuck with only one option of either AMD or NVidia graphics cards forever after that...

I would've thought that it wouldn't cost a lot more for existing Gsync monitors to implement Freesync too. Also, offering both technologies would seem to be a big selling point so you have to wonder if Nvidia impose restrictions on monitor manufacturers.
