The four-core processor is no longer the market leader in the steam hardware database

Today, the most popular CPUs for gamers are those with 6 or more cores. Both the Ryzen 5 and the Core i5 offer this many cores.

AMD's Ryzen 5000 line doesn't even have quad-core models anymore. What's surprising is how many people are upgrading to these new CPUs. Right now, more than 50% of Steam users have a CPU with at least 6 cores, which shows that the four cores are already history. Steam's Hardware Survey of December shows that 33.25 percent of users have a 6-core CPU and 16.78 percent have an 8-core CPU, adding only 50.03 percent to these two categories. This number grows even more when the small percentages of the categories 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 24, and 32 cores are added. This shows that CPUs with at least 6 cores are the most common.

There are still a lot of people who use 4-core computers, but they aren't going to stop going down. The 6-core category, on the other hand, is still going up. In two or three months, the 6-core category will be the most popular.

Another fact; 77% of users use Nvidia GPUs, 14% use AMD GPUs, and 9% use Intel GPUs. The GTX 1060 is still the most popular GPU on Steam.
