The first pre-order GeForce RTX 4090 is rather expensive at 2100 to 2500 USD
Nvidia's forthcoming flagship graphics card, the ultra-powerful GeForce RTX 4090, appears to have leaked in terms of cost before its planned major unveiling at Nvidia's GTC presentation on September 20.
According to tweets from user @ILeak VN, the RTX 4090 can be pre-ordered through Vietnamese store AZPC Workstation. The standard version costs 50,000,000 VND, while the high-end one costs 60,000,000,000 VND. The equivalent US dollar amounts are $2100 and ~ $2500. It seems to involve an Nvidia Founders Edition and a bespoke graphics card. So far, we're in the region of the old Titan atlases. This is in line with initial performance indicators. This is a high-end card, not for the ordinary gamer. Nvidia will release the exact prices for its new graphics cards at their GTC presentation on September 20.

Exactly, a motorbike or 4 PS5's (even they are overpriced), the 3090 and 3080 only sold on release due to crypto, nothing else. Maybe a few gamers who throw money but most gamers have been buying the 3080 / 3080ti's the last few months due to them being an ok price.
I reckon Nvidia is just testing the waters, to see how many will buy and at what price would they buy. Seeing them drop by $500 in 3 months will happen.
It's going to be great seeing all the stores have them just sitting there on their shelves. haha

I upgraded from a q6600, 6GB DDR2 800, and HD 57701GB that I had for over 4 years. So it was a big jump. I wanted a 660ti 3gb or HD 7950 3gb so bad but was out of the budget. Finally was able to get 2 HD 7950s for $125 after mining bubble blew in 2014. Was so happy lol.
Sadly it really feels like the days of good cheap gpu upgrades are over. They are starting to cost what building a cheap v8 for either my cars is. $2500 gets me a mild built 330hp small block v8. Thats cheap.

The real reason they want the high end to be so excessively expensive now is to keep medium range and low end video cards.... well excessively expensive for no reason than they enjoyed the money they made from Miners and are not interested in lowering the prices for the intended costumers wanting to play video games.

Its the same old deal. A few idiots out there willing to spend over what its true value is and they see it and raise the prices.
