Tesoro Lobera Supreme and Mechanical-like Lobera Gaming

Tesoro releases today new family of keyboards targeting directly both casual and hardcore gamers. Tesoro Lobera and Tesoro Lobera Supreme are named after a famous sword of bravery and great virtue. Also nicknamed as “the sword wolf-slayer,” it symbolized power used by Saint Ferdinand III, becoming one of the most famous swords in recorded history, and making its righteous owner an invincible champion and an exemplary knight.

Tesoro Lobera comes in two versions: Lobera Supreme, featuring mechanical gaming grade switches available in Blue, Black, Brown and Red, and Lobera mechanical-like version, which uses special technology developed by Tesoro that improves the quality of membrane keyboard, increasing its life-span and the touch feeling of mechanical switch.

Both models feature one of the most advanced specifications in the current gaming market enabling gamers to set up their devices to truly perform to their requirements. With Instant capabilities, users can now easily change any profiles they saved in the built in memory, or instant record any macros without need of software. The ability to store setting in the built-in-memory (512Kb) enables the keyboards to be fully synchronized even during the tournaments, where it is prohibited to install external software. Additionally, both models feature one touch / game mode button for fast switching as well as 3 thumbs key under the space for instant macro launch.

Lobera and Lobera Supreme also feature switchable USB 6 N-Key to Full N-Key Rollover function through firmware (very similar to full Anti-Ghosting.) Depending on the requirements (tournament mode vs. hardcore mode), users can press any and all keys at the same time without worrying that some key might not be registered. In same regards, every single key are fully programmable, allowing for 5 sets of profiles, 300 macro keys and 2000 macro key presses per profile.

For the additional features, both models of Lobera come with high speed 2XUSB 2.0 hub together with audio and mic jack as well as very new feature in mechanical keyboard – DC-In jack. Users do not need to worry about USB limitation that provides limited power. By adding optional DC-IN power supply, USB Hub allows for even more demanding devices such as smart phones and tablets to be charged directly through the keyboard.

For the first time in gaming mechanical keyboard market, Lobera Supreme allows users to modify LED colors to any color of their liking. No longer users have to choose mechanical gaming grade keyboard with only one color of LED – Lobera Supreme allows for full 16.8M colors for illumination, each key illuminated individually, together with a side bar effects. It comes with full backlit LED, which can be adjusted to four level of brightness, breathing mode, color loop mode and game mode, where only gaming keys are illuminated. Membrane version of the keyboard still allows for full color modification, but instead – it comes with 2 level of brightness.

Both Lobera models are designed with full focus on details. High quality top enclosure with brushed texture surface finish is used to ensure longevity and high durability. High quality anti-slip feet with an option to choose 3 different heights depending on personal needs and highest quality braided cable with gold-plated USB connectors to maximize life of the product are the important details that Tesoro provides to manufacture this highest quality keyboard currently available in the market.

Lobera is available in 2 models:

Lobera Supreme, world first mechanical gaming keyboard with full color illumination, will be available in Europe from January, 2014 and will be priced approximately €119.

Lobera, mechanical-like gaming keyboard, will also be available in Europe from January, 2014 and will be priced approximately €79.

I'm trying to figure out what the advantage of being able to switch back and forth between 6 key and N key rollover is. I mean, why would you not want N Key all of the time? Is there some hidden side effect or disadvantage?

Other than that, (and it's not really a negative, just a curiosity) it looks like it could be a nice keyboard. I need to find some pictures that are more straight on, though.

*edit*
Oops, didn't see the extra pics at the end.

No dedicated media keys is a showstopper for me, and it doesn't look like it has any.

The mention of the 5v DC input jack is intriguing though, pretty cool if this lets you charge phones and such at higher amperages via a usb jack.

It looks like a visually fancier version of my current keyboard (Tesoro Durandal) with a worse wristpad. The major advantage is the 5v jack, since my keyboard only allows 100mA per USB port. Basically enough for a flash drive.

If its anything like my keyboard, you can set any key (except Start, F7-F12, or Fn) to be a multimedia key. The macros are pretty powerful because they can be time based, and I like that the macros are stored inside the keyboard itself so the shortcuts work in any OS even without the software.
