Tales of Monkey Island Announced

by Thorsten Finck on: 06/03/2009 08:27 AM | source: | 0 comment(s)

In case you like graphical adventure games, Tales of Monkey Island, developed by Telltale Games and LucasArts, might be exactly your cup of tea. Fans of the old Monkey Island series probably still remember Guybrush Threepwood, the protagonist whom you will continue to be playing as in five monthly episodes. The first episode is going to be published on July 7, 2009 on PC and Wii. Apparently, "many series veterans, including designers Dave Grossman and Mike Stemmle, composer Michael Land and voice of Guybrush Dominic Armato" are participating in the creation of this new installment of Monkey Island.

One last tidbit ofr the fans of the series: "A revamp of The Secret of Monkey Island was also unveiled, updating the series's first title with fully redrawn graphics, re-mastered score and full voiceover. Developed internally at LucasArts, Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition modernises the title with fully redrawn scenes and graphics, and the control bar replaced by a popup menu offering all the original SCUMM options. Armato will also voice Guybrush here. Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition will be released on PC and Xbox Live Arcade later in the summer."
