System requirements for Microsoft Windows 11 remain unchanged

System requirements for Microsoft Windows 11 remain unchanged

Microsoft has reconfirmed that users with outdated systems will not be able to upgrade to the new Windows version due to security reasons, among other things.

The AMD Ryzen 2000 series and Intel's 8000 series CPUs are supported (or newer). TMP 2.0 is also required. The high security requirements, according to Microsoft CEO David Weston, should result in a much more secure system.

“We know it sucks that some aren't going to be eligible for Windows 11, but the great thing to remember is the reason we're doing [this] is to keep devices more productive and [ensure that they have] security than ever before so they can stay protected in this new workforce,”

“Group policy will not enable you to get around the hardware enforcement for Windows 11. We will block you from upgrading your device to an unsupported state since we really want to make sure that your devices stay supported and secure,”

Microsoft announced shortly after the release of the system requirements that it is still reviewing the possibility of supporting Ryzen and Intel 7000 processors from the first generation. No new information has been provided in this area by the developer.

This is essential to the business and political plans of the people in the billionaires club.
Great for them, not so great for the rest of us.

When they talk of providing "Security", they mean taking control.
When they talk of being "Secure", they mean being locked down.

The days of people being able to do what we want on our pc's and also be part of normal society are numbered.

You will be ostracised from Windows if your hardware does not conform.
Now where have I heard that kind of rhetoric before ? Sounds all too familiar doesn't it.

Sometimes, you have to let go of the old kit. Heck, Apple's done it and no-one barely batted an eyelid.

P.s. The post above mine is a bit insane.

Might be but it does have a core of truth, we’re slowly but surely getting less control over our hardware and OS.

The same is happening with extensive online tracking sometimes even it’s even hardcoded (cough Android).

The law really needs to lay down some hard ground rules about what is deemed acceptable and what is a downright invasion of privacy and personal freedom. Otherwise the big tech companies will just run rampant and do experiments in whatever way they see fit.
