Store in Germany claims NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti outsells anything else available

According to the latest Mindfactory sales data, NVIDIA has sold over 500 units of its GeForce RTX 4070 Ti graphics cards. The data shows that in the third week of January 545 RTX 4070 Ti devices were sold by the German retailer.

This figure surpasses the sales of the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090, which sold 210 and 190 units, respectively. A close second is the RTX 3060. Comparing the sales of the RX 7900 series to NVIDIA's RTX 40 GPUs, it is clear that they trail behind. Only 300 XTX cards and 200 XT units were shipped. Despite having fewer custom designs available, the RX 7900 XTX, which is marketed as a direct competitor to the 4080, sold 110 units more. The sales of the RTX 4070 Ti also exceeded the combined sales of the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, RX 7900 XT, and Intel Arc A770/A380. The latter, in particular, is currently performing inadequately, with only 20 Alchemist GPUs sold.

Additionally, AMD sold 410 Radeon RX 6700 XT units, while NVIDIA RTX 3060 sold 485 units. This highlights the importance of the upper mid-range segment currently, yet neither AMD nor NVIDIA have announced their plans for this market segment in the next generation. Intel, the third competitor, has only sold ten units of its Arc A770 in a similar price and performance segment.

Mindfactory sale data is already the best case scenario for AMD, nowhere else has nearly as much 7900XT/X stocks as Mindfactory

Locally, in Sweden, the 4070Ti is the cheapest of the new generation cards. It's also cheaper than the remaining 3080s.

If I were putting 1000-1100€ into a new GPU that would be my choice also, as there's really no alternatives.

This data is meaningless without comparison to previous years. So, in January 2020 the 2070S sold 2905 units. I guess people are voting with their wallets.

Indeed. That's all 4070 Ti is. If you absolutely need a new graphics card, and have got more cash than an average joe/jane is willing to invest in his/her PC, then 4070 Ti is the most reasonable card right now, even if it is severely overpriced. The old gen, which aren't even discounted, are definitely not worth it, unless you buy used from a source you can trust or are willing to gamble.

It used to be that the same money gets you more performance (absolute performance, not relative to newest games), but now the manufacturers are trying to reform the industry so that while you can get more performance, but you will also pay more for it.
