Stop Being Embarassed and Just Play

by Panagiotis Georgiadis on: 04/07/2010 09:42 AM | source: | 0 comment(s)

Damnlag has posted a column that really reflects my inner feelings of having to struggle with people not understanding my desire to just play games, the author describes how putting the opinions of others in front of your own feelings of just wanting to play can really limit our capacity to enjoy games for what they are, a fun experience! This short article does really get some points straight as to how we as people tend to not do what we just want because of what other people is thinking about what we should do!

This column reminded me about a chat with some guy last week when he saw my lab and told me: "awesome material!" and when their eyes were fascinated at my machines I asked "do you play?" and he told me "ohh no... I'm too old for that thing" (of course, with his wife at his side).

Nice reading and some things to ponder about all this subject of prejudice against enjoyment, I am myself 35 years old and I enjoy playing even if people I know think I'm immature.
