Turned an avid fanboy of the series in to someone who will never buy another Rcokstar game.

How come if I may ask? I can only comment on the SP, did never play the MP tbh.

This could be a long rant. Rcokstar is a great example of what happens when a developer that has the support of it's dedicated community decides to take that good will and support and p*ss it all against the wall in favour of the all mighty dollar.

GTAO had such huge potential, it launched buggy and broken but I stuck with it because Rcokstar had a roadmap a series of add ons and new content and the potential my god the potential for such an epic community driven game was there.

I used the phrase many times over at the GTA forums, 'You may never have opened your wallet, never bought a single shark card, never given Rcokstar a single penny of your cash but if you play GTAO you pay!'

You pay because you are playing a game that has become less stable, more broken and more unbalanced with the release of the ever increasing and over priced content. Rcokstar long gave up any pretence that they have any interest in making the game balanced or stable and many of the bugs that have been kicking around for years are still present, the two examples are caused by the release of a tonally inept update called 'stunt races' combined with a day one broken game mechanic called 'catch up'.

I reported this issue and after two or three days was told it had been elevated to some other department and was closed as 'fixed', it still hasn't over two years later.

Everything in the game is a band aid fix designed to keep the game just about working with whatever new content they have released, even their anti cheat system is a band aid fix. Sell so many cars in a period of time and you get flagged, how about actually looking at my garage and see if I have 50 of the exact same free car. I use that example because the basis of every money making dupe glitch for the last two years has been fundamentally the same. Rockstar band aid it after a week or so and then a few days later a slight variant of the same dupe is found. Rinse and repeat.

A quick glance at the players garage the fact that they gained 50 Elegy Classics in 3 hours and spent no cash would tell them if the person was cheating but nope band aid it, if they sell more than x amount of cars in x time they get flagged for a month. Then you have the situation around a year and a half ago where players had money disappear from their accounts. according to Rcokstar this was due to them modding or obtaining the money through 'means' except that for many it wasn't. They had been flagged by the band aid anti cheat system for making x amount of cash in a period of time. What Rcokstar failed to take in to account was that many players had sold saved resources in their warehouses during a 2x event and that many had ground for many many hours to make the money. Did Rcokstar care? Nope didn't even listen, cash reset and then to add insult to injury these players started getting Shark Card advertisements as they loaded in to game.

The entire game is now a series of horrible, over priced, unstable, buggy, lowest effort meme cr*p all held together using spit and masking tape. I doubt Rcokstar could even retro actively fix the numerous flaws and bugs they have introduced, fix the game balance and the functionality of the content they have kept adding. I don't think they either know how or care enough as long as the money keeps rolling in and they want everyone to just keep paying to play it and in it's current state like I said if you do play you pay!

some other of Rcokstar's highlights

- banning players for no reason what so ever with no method of reprieve, often on the grounds of one of their band aid anti cheats systems not working correctly.
- they haven't paid ANY corporation tax for over ten years
- they had pay to win loot boxes in their game long before EA came and gate crashed the party
- grind and pay to skip the grind was in their game long before it became the de facto money maker for many games
- pay to win, expect that if it's any update after the Bunker update it's more like you have to pay to have to pay to have to pay to open a loot box and THEN pay again to win. The way they stack paid mechanics would make some mobile games blush
- at a time when gambling in games was under the spot light these guys were arrogant enough to add a DLC that introduced a Casino

GTAO had so much potential and Rcokstar sold it all.
