I worked at Ubisoft Montreal (services, not on the games). You have to put into context that this game is a new IP, meaning that even though it's a Ubisoft game, it's an unproven franchise so they won't put their best/seniorest people on it.
Also this is one of the last game to be on the 2 year production cycle, meaning that they don't get an extra year for extensive testing/polishing. That's why you shouldn't expect beta test stuff/release day stuff to work perfectly. I find that I enjoy games more if I buy/play them after the game's been patched post release (IE: No Man's Sky)
All that being said, I'm hearing a lot of good things on the web from people playing it. The game mechanics seem nice/unique in recent memory.
The game mechanics are truly unique and it plays well indeed. It's just not my cup of tea. The beta had also stability issue, and i did not expect crash to desktop from this product.
What do you mean by "it's one of the last game on 2 year dev. cycles" is there gonna be even shorter dev cycle from now on, or longer? Really curious about this :p
