David Braben demonstrating again, that he will succeed where Peter Molyneux and Chris Roberts won't.
David started a kickstarter for Elite: Dangerous @ £2m in 2012. Game launched two years later. It has now had two expansions based on what players wanted, instead of second guessing demand. He also offered full refunds for those who pre-ordered the game/backed the game, if they were unhappy about the removal of offline gameplay from the initially preposed content. Quite the reverse of CR, is it not? Where consumers have to take companies to court to get their refunds...
David has now (with planet coaster) confirmed his place high and above Peter Molyneux for God games, displacing pretty much anything PM has put together over the last 25 years in this genre.
Oh, he also uses his own games engine which has been in continuous development since the 80's. Makes you wonder why PM and CR have not bothered to put their money into creating their own games engine, because it gives them something to moan about and place blame?
Who knows.
Oh, Planet Coaster launched at $46...that's the full game.
