Star Citizen will be free to play November 23-30

Cloud Imperium Games has announced that it will make the Star Citizen Alpha free to download and play for any player to celebrate the launch of Star Citizen’s first habitable planet, Hurston.

Revealed at CitizenCon 2018, on October 10, Hurston is a massive planet encompassing thousands of kilometers of playable space, with more than five distinct biomes including cityscapes, savannahs, frigid tundra’s, mountains and coastal seascapes. Lorville, the planet’s major city hub, will also be available to all players. In Lorville, players can expect to find a densely populated, living city, including the “New Deal” ship shop, the game’s in-game location for the buying of in-game ships with in-game currency. Star Citizen Alpha 3.3.5 is currently available on PTU servers.

To celebrate the release of Hurston, Star Citizen’s first explorable planet, and commemorate our anniversary, we’re launching a Free Fly event of unprecedented magnitude.

From Nov 23 through Dec 1 you’ll have the chance to try out every flyable ship and operable vehicle in the game for free. Here’s how it works:

During the promotion, anyone can join Star Citizen’s Persistent Universe for free. You’ll be able to experience Star Citizen first-hand, but to get out there and start exploring, you’re gonna need a ship.

Starting on November 23rd, every day, a different ship manufacturer in the game will make its entire flyable fleet available for a 24-hour test flight period.

There may also be some surprises in store for those of you who make the trek out to Hurston and see what Lorville’s all about, as well as some fun interactive activities here on the website, so stay tuned.

How about you provide that list of "past failures"? It is up to you to back your claims...what can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence. Alternatively, you could explain why a game, in which you have zero interest, generates such strong emotions in you. I will blame you for not trying.

Read this - was literally the first thing on my web search. Don't just read the article, read all of the citations - it's well researched.

Then, perhaps we can talk turkey to the rooster.

If it's tldr, then let me summarisificationate my point: He blames other people a lot.

I also love the Dilbert cartoon in the article:

Google. Not hard to find info on what I'm talking about. Cash grabbing. Changing their TOS screwing over a ton of people. I don't have an issue with the premise of the game, but the company and it's dodgy dealings

His practices are Wing Commander and Freelancer. Best space games series. And to make modern one it needs far more than $200 mln, so they have to deal with financial trolls.

Squadron 42 is “story mode” it’s been planned since the beginning but the crazy feature creep has pushed it back many times now.

Well I installed it again. Maybe the hanger hasn’t gotten any attention but it was an absolute slideshow even turning it down to Medium. I spawned my ship and even getting into it was a chore with the abysmal performance.
All I want and all I bought into this game is for SQ42. They can bugger around with the rest of the game for a decade for all I care after I get SQ42.

the hangers are not the best way to judge the games current world performance.
