Sony Purchases OnLive and then kills it
Sony has purchased OnLive, one of the more popular online game streaming services. With the buyout Sony now holds all its patents. However this was a strategic move, OnLive services will cease to exist after April 30 2015.
OnLine will no longer collect subscription money and its customers can use the service up-tp April 30. This includes OnLive Game Service, OnLive Desktop and SecondLife on the Go.
It is unclear what will happen with the 80 employees. Sony probably will use parts of the technology and infrastructure of OnLive for its own PlayStation Now service. Earlier Sony already bought and killed Gaika.

What the ****? In what world require the buyers of a technology patent to continure the failing service of a failing company? They simply bought the patent, nothing more, nothing less. Continuing the service is solely OnLive business and Sony doesn't have to and does not need to maintain it.

Onlive mess..analogy 1001 eh.....
They way I see it it's like Onlive was a car that didn't run anymore, so it sold all the parts that were still good, then after there were no more parts to sell they put an article in the paper and said Sony took their perfectly working car to the junkyard and crushed it for no reason!!
