That's a cool looking storaage unit folks. Sonnet Technologies today launched its Fusion F3 RAID storage system. Two 3.5 inch SATA RAID drives used, with offered capacities between 1TB and 3TB. The drives can be configured in a concatenated array for maximum space, RAID 0 for speed, or RAID 1 for data protection. Transfer speeds using are claimed to be as high as 165 MB/sec using RAID 0. Users can choose between eSATA, FireWire 800, FireWire 400, or USB2.0 connections.

The two fans included in the F3 chassis feature automatic failover and produce are "whisper quiet", according to Sonnet. A power supply is also contained inside the chassis, operating from 110-240V and 50-60Hz. Each drive is shock isolated inside the aluminum and steel case.

A rack mount can be used, with the possibility of two systems being placed side by side across one spot. For users without racks, it can placed or stacked on a flat surface and held on edge with an included stand. The blue LED indicators can be dimmed to match darker installations.
