Some US states tightening power consumption requirements for high-end gaming PCs

Some US states tightening power consumption requirements for high-end gaming PCs

Some states in the US are tightening the requirements for power consumption for gaming PCs. The Register writes in a report. California, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Vermont and Washington appear to be the states.

Dell is already adapting towards the new legislation. On Dell's US website, AMD Ryzen 5000 CPUs, Intel Rocket Lake processors, Nvidia's RTX 3000 graphics cards and AMD's RX 6000 graphics cards can be found on a variety of systems. In fact, there are SKUs with a GTX 1650 that would not be affected.

For all types of systems, including laptops, mini PCs and even hand-held systems, manufactured between January 1, 2019 and July 1, 2021, the California Energy Commission has amended its rules. Memory bandwidth, fast connections, and separate video cards are all factors to be considered. Measuring factors include the idle consumption under different conditions and the maximum consumption as well. Laptops with "cyclic behavior" and systems with high-speed networking will also be regulated as of December of this year.  NRD has apparently already written about PC consumption in 2016. To date, it has saved more than 2.3 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity through the new requirements. The annual consumption of all houses in San Francisco is equal to this amount. This would prevent 730,000 tons of CO2 emissions.

do i need a gun permit ... for this new ''war on pollution'' american fairy tale
we couldn't pollute the earth if we lived a million years
seen an actual person who works in the field of pollution and studied what affects it and if we are the cause and all that ... ,
guess what he said after 40 years of studying the actual science behind all of it , that we don't even come close and NEVER will , to the pollution the earth itself produces from volcanos alone
the earth will be here long after we're gone and will ''recover'' the little pollution we did to it in no time , don't you worry about that
anybody thinking that changing every car to electric is going to change anything , needs to check himself and take a drive to the nearest industry park , see what they spew out , after seeing that people really think an electric car is going to ''help the environment'' ?
it's like people are standing in the sea and trying to make it yellow
I dont think the cars themselves are the issue....more the production and the dead batteries could have the bigger impact on the enviroment

CO2 out-gassed to the atmosphere and oceans today from volcanoes and other magmatically active regions is estimated at 280 to 360 million tonnes (0.28 to 0.36 Gt) per year, including that released into the oceans from mid-ocean ridges

The average human-driven CO2 emissions per year climbed 1.4% to 32 ½ gigatons in 2017, according to the International Energy Agency. Every year, they release an annual survey of global carbon levels.

You don't have to work "in the field of pollution" to see that .36 gigatons is less than 32. Do you guys even do basic research? It's embarrassing at this point.

What do you even do with this, the guy thinks its impossible to pollute the earth while obviously suffering the effects of lead inhalation no doubt as a result of pollution
