Security update of Windows 11 generates problems (again)
A security update for Windows 11 is creating problems for customers, this time with the number KB5015814. At the same time as it offers critical fixes, it also generates error warnings on your installation and, in rare situations, results in an indefinite boot loop.
Net Framework 3.5 in order to function, which may not be available after the upgrade. At the time, the only temporary remedy is to deactivate the technology during the installation process or to switch off apps such as Malwarebytes while the update is running.
The KB5015814 upgrade also causes problems with the Microsoft Edge browser, which may become unusable when Internet Explorer mode is active. In this instance, the only option is to utilize a Windows 11 restore point to return to a condition before the update was performed. According to Malwarebytes, "a limited percentage of users" are having trouble downloading the security patch, according to The Register website. The business said that it has begun an inquiry into the matter and is working to find a solution.
Microsoft has yet to respond to the situation, which adds to a string of recent problems with Windows 11 upgrades. Earlier this month, the corporation issued patch KB5014668 to address past system issues. Surprisingly, they also provided a succession of launch failures.

Just had that issue with W10 without warning and needed my desktop PC for work use today. It ran 1.5hrs looping! I swear I need to buy a rabbits foot, 4 leaf clover & holy water when it does an update.I set my settings to warn me and do what I gotta do but almost every time it does it it does it forcefully. Oddly after this update my system that I built, (Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB 3200mhz, 1TB/512GB SSD, RX580) was lagging when opening Windows programs so I restarted it and runs fine again.
I had one update months ago where it messed up my Nano receiver. God I hate MICROSOFT.

Apart from the memes, Windows is the only OS that has such bad update mechanisms at this point. It's beyond a meme. A bunch of smelly nerds managed to create better systems almost thirty years ago. WinGet is on the right track, but I don't see them even allowing it to be remotely close to Windows update.
By the way, the only way to semi-reliably update systems via scripting in Windows, is to create your own Win32 application. Even Powershell is useless without a 3rd party addon, which sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Been off of 11 for about a month. Guess it will be a while before I go back.
