Seagate has introduced a number of SSD innovations at CES 2019 in Las Vegas, including two new M.2 models such as the Seagate FireCuda 510 and the world's first SSD specifically for NAS systems.

Seagate FireCuda 510
With the FireCuda 510, Seagate introduces a new M.2 SSD connected via PCIe with NVMe, which can handle up to 3,400 MB/s read and 3,150 MB/s write. The SSD is aimed especially at gamers and creative users who need high performance. The capacities should be 1 TB and 2 TB, the Seagate FireCuda 510 should appear in March 2019. What type of flash chips the SSD uses and which controller is used is currently unknown. Prices are not known yet.

Seagate Barracuda 510
The BarraCuda 510 has a similar design but is a bit less efficient. It is also connected in M.2 format and via PCIe with NVMe. As a result, the SSD reaches up to 3,400 MB / s in reading and 2,100 MB / s in writing. The Seagate BarraCuda 510 will also be available in March 2019, then in 256GB and 512GB sizes. Even with this model, details about the controller and the flash chips are not yet known. Prices are not yet available for this model.

Seagate IronWolf 110
Seagate's third innovation is the IronWolf 110 SATA SSD for NAS systems, making the manufacturer the world's first. The drive is designed for longevity and reliability and is designed for the enterprise class. So far, the "good old" hard drives in NAS systems were mainly used, Seagate dares now the first attempt with an SSD. Connected via SATA 6 Gb / s, the IronWolf 110 achieves up to 560 MB / s in reading and 535 MB / s in writing. Available capacities are 240 GB, 480 GB and 960 GB, 1.9 TB and 3.84 TB. When and at what price the SSD should be available, is still unknown.
