Sapphire registers Radeon RX 5500, 5550 5600, 5800, 5850 and 5900 XT graphic cards

Sapphire registers Radeon RX 5500, 5550 5600, 5800, 5850 and 5900 XT graphic cards

Actually, they registered a bunch more but I ran out of space for the topic title. Anything and everything NAVI is coming. In a few days, the RX 5700 series will be unleashed. But that didn't stop Sapphire to register a bunch of products.

Sapphire has registered trademarks for several 5000 series video cards with the EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission). Where the RX 5700 (XT) is prone to be released, the new product names will represent both more expensive and cheaper models. The new names range from RX 5500 (XT) and RX 5550 (XT) to the RX 5900 (XT) and the RX 5950 (XT), with a total of 19 new versions. Funny fact; a Radeon RX 590 is also listed, this gpu has been around for a while.

Previously, three other graphics processors named Navi 12, 14 and 21 have already been spotted inside drivers for the Linux operating system. Now, AMD's partner maker Sapphire may have given yet another indication that the RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT will get a set of brothers and sisters. At the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) , Sapphire has registered trademarks for a total of 20 different graphics card models in addition to the RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT, incl product names from RX 590 to RX 5550 XT, RX 5800 XT and RX 5950 XT.

Dual gpu+ will never be abandoned. I've said it before, but, I think dual gpu will eventually make a comeback when they can no longer shrink the manufacturing process down anymore. However, we will more than likely see multiple gpu chips on one card (acting like 1 gpu), rather than multiple cards becoming the standard. 3nm is on the horizon, so, I think we're still way off those times.

Anyway, this news article is very interesting. It would make sense that AMD's x700 series isn't their highest-end offering. We've commonly seen them release x800 etc alongside as the higher-end model.

I'd jump on a dual gpu amd card, I have fond memories of the 4870 x2.

fond memories? lucky you all the franken cards I had sucked at launch
48x2 59 98gx2 not to mention the 38x2 and 79gx2
first cards sucked you would run better 2 card cf/sli lol
the 295 was best at launch driver wise.

it seemed with better tools on the nv side you could get lucky with a custom profile to help yourself out.amd seemed to walk away from it stuff was never fixed that was dx9 days last time on 2,3,4 290's was a lot better like night and day I was talking back in the day
i dont think we want to see that x2 again from amd because the worse thing is it will stifle your progress and innovation.
if anyone could jam two cores on a pbc and make money nv would have done it not even on 7nm yet. amd might d0 that thou to revile the 2080ti that would beat it pretty good for 100 less? they could get top card easy
ha jaja I just wonder

Anything above the 5700XT is probably Navi 20. Most likely next year.

Man...I'd love for the return of the dual-gpu glory days. I wish this is true.

Two more years of wait. While not dual GPU, still multiple chips on board in form of chiplets..
